Peer2Peer training is an opportunity for people with lived experience of mental health problems to develop peer support skills. Peer support is generally understood to be a relationship of mutual support which provides an opportunity for people with lived experience to learn how to support others in their recovery journey.
Join in this course which will run weekly for four weeks before Christmas and four weeks after Christmas to develop your peer support skills so that you can be part of the work to support people with their recovery.
The peer support role involves:
- Developing mutually empowering relationships
- Sharing experiences in a way that inspires hope
- Offering hope and support as an equal
Participants will develop their knowledge and skills in supporting others either one to one or in groups. We will share our own journeys of recovery and hope and will work together to create an environment that builds connection and relationships. The sharing of lived experience and the highly participative nature of the course means that knowledge and expertise is built on week by week. At the end of the sessions you will receive a certificate.
