The long dark nights and cold days of January February and March can take a toll on our mental wellbeing. In addition to the cost of living, the practical challenges of paying our bills and affording healthy food, the cold and dark can mean we feel more isolated and perhaps we dont connect as well with other people through these dark months.
Taking its inspiration from the Danich “hygge” Coorie Doon looks to help us face the long dark nights with sense of cosiness, simplicity, and being present. We will connect online and look at how we can create calm and a pleasurable space to help promote wellbeing in our own lives and help us through the long dark months putting us in a position to spring into spring. We will explore how winter affects our mood, how we can get light into our lives and how to keep ourselves healthy and warm during these months so that we can move into the spring and summer in a good place.
The sessions are led by our peer suppoprt workers who all have their own experiences of managing their mental wellbeing through these long days.
The sessions are online and will be interactive and fun.
