Peer2Peer Training is an opportunity for people with lived experience of poor mental health or wellbeing or addiction, to develop peer support skills in order to support others into and through their own recovery journey.
Peer2 Peer runs one day a week over 8 weeks and is an interesting and enjoyable course. It can help with your own life or equip you with the skills to deliver peer support to others, either through employment or in a voluntary capacity.
Peer Support is understood to be a relationship of mutual empowerment which provides an opportunity for people with lived experience to learn how to support others. For many people engaging with peer support is a really effective way of managing their mental health or addiction and finding connection, hope and belonging in a stigma free and supportive way.
The Peer Support role involves
- Developing mutually empowering relationships
- Sharing experience in a way that inspires hope
- Offering hope and support as an equal

Peer2Peer – Caithness will be delivered by Jamie Bird and Magnus Adamson. Jamie has exprensive experience of peer support and has delivered Peer2Peer training several times including previously in Caithness. Magnus lives in Caithness and is a trained peer support worker with the Discovery College.
