“We welcome the overall downward trend in suspected suicide deaths and particularly the significant reduction among females. However, we remain dismayed by the high incidence of deaths from suicide in Highland and so we are determined to continue to raise public aware awareness and to provide solutions and support on the range of factors that may contribute to suicide risk.
We want to send a message to everyone that there are other options support and interventions that can help. That the third sector is responding and working hard to provide help for people and that the Recovery College for Highland which is shortly to be launched will provide an easily accessed route into mental health and well being support.”
